At Home With The Munsters

The Munsters is an American television sitcom depicting the home life of a family of monsters. Much of the humor derived from the fact that they did not see themselves as being abnormal, but just slightly greener subjects of a Norman Rockwell painting. Comedy also came from their daily interaction with modern society, and the usual horrified reactions of others to their "ghoulish" appearance.

The Munster's Victorian home (although now altered) can be seen in ABC's Desperate Housewives. It was also the home of the family in Shirley (ABC, 1979-80). It has also appeared in other TV shows such as Coach and Leave it to Beaver.

Here it is. The Electric Mud Horror Mix Volume Two
I had a amusing time putting this mix togther. I multi-tracked some effects with these entertaining cuts.
Choosing mainstream songs was the idea. So If your having a Halloween Party, try spinning this hair-raising, 45 minute set of classic grim riffage.
Enjoy!

Satanic Rites of Dracula (1974)

The Satanic Rites of Dracula is a 1974 Hammer Horror film directed by Alan Gibson, and starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

In London in the 1970s, Scotland Yard police investigators think they have uncovered a case of vampirism. They call in an expert vampire researcher named Van Helsing (an ancestor of the great vampire-hunter himself, no less) to help them put a stop to these hideous crimes. It becomes apparent that the culprit is Count Dracula himself, disguised as a reclusive property developer, but secretly plotting to unleash a fatal virus upon the world.

Black Sabbath - Self-Titled (1970)

Black Sabbath is the self-titled debut album of the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in the UK on Friday, 13 February 1970. The album was recorded in 3 days.

This shot is the inside cover of the album at Mapledurham Watermill. It an historic watermill on the River Thames at the village of Mapledurham in Oxfordshire, England. The mill is driven by the head of water created by Mapledurham Lock and Weir and is preserved in an operational state. The mill building is also the backdrop in the image on the front cover of Black Sabbath's self titled record.

The original release had a gatefold sleeve and generic Vertigo 'swirl' inner bag. The inside of the sleeve featured the words "Black Sabbath" on the left side (spilling over slightly onto the right side) and on the right side, an inverted cross with a poem written inside of it. Vertigo was allegedly repsonsible for adding the cross; the band was upset when they found out about this, as it fed into many allegations hurled at the group regarding elements of the occult and Satanism. The original US and Canadian releases of the album had "Wicked World" in place of "Evil Woman" due to conflicts over publishing rights, while subsequent remasters of the album outside of the US and Canada featured both. Early versions of this album have Ozzy's name misspelled as "Ossie Osborne." Acid Mothers Temple released Starless and Bible Black Sabbath as a tribute album, which features a similar cover, except Kawabata Makoto is on the cover.

Wojciech Kilar - Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula

I've never been a big fan of Classical music. I think it's because I just don't know crap about it. I bet it's like Blues music. In that - it's hard to translate the feel of the music on to a recording. I would guess that, (like the Blues) you would have to experience it "live" to be truly moved. The recording just can't do it justice.

That said. This recording by Wojciech Kilar of Bram Stoker's Dracula is very interesting to listen to. Classical but with a dark goth vibe. This is the soundtrack to Francis Ford Coppola's film of Bram Stroker's Dracula. I actually liked this classical recording very much ( did I just type that out loud? ) ;}

Turn down your lamp. Pour red wine. Take a trip into the darkworld of Wojciech Kilar.

Halloween 2007

Here's the soundtrack to Rob Zombie's remake of John Carpenter classic independent horror film "Halloween" (originally titled The Babysitter Murders)

His intention is to reinvent Michael Myers, because, in his opinion, the character, along with Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Pinhead, has become more familiar to audiences, and as a result, less scary.[9] The idea behind the new film was to delve deeper into Michael Myers' back story. A deeper back story would add "new life" to the character, as Zombie put it.[8] Michael's mask will be given its own story, to provide an explanation as to why he wears it, instead of having the character simply steal a random mask from a hardware store, as in the original film.[10] Zombie explained that he wanted Michael to be truer to what a psychopath really is, and wanted the mask to be a way for Michael to hide. He wants the young Michael to have charisma, which would be projected onto the adult Michael. Zombie has decided that Michael's motives for returning to Haddonfield should be more ambiguous, i.e., "was he trying to kill Laurie, or just find her because he loves her?"
