The Smashing Pumkins - Gish

You have to put this record in context.

It was recorded from December 1990 to March 1991 in Butch Vig's Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, and released on May 28, 1991. In a time when the charts were full of Sinead O'Connor, Madonna, Jon Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Milli Vanilli and Unskinny Bop by Poison. The Pumkins were in the studio recording a new consciousness called GISH. Gish was The Smashing Pumpkins' debut release. The album was named after silent movie actress Lillian Gish. "I Am One", "Rhinoceros", "Bury Me", and "Daydream" appear on demos recorded by the band in early 1989.
James Iha has mentioned that he bought his first Gibson Les Paul guitar for the recording of Gish. He used these model guitars almost exclusively until 1998's Adore

If you love rock guitar, you'll dig this. Fantastic record! ENJOY!
