Powderfinger - Vulture Street

Powderfinger is an Australian rock band. The band formed in 1989 in Brisbane, with the present lineup of Bernard Fanning (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Harmonica), John Collins (Bass Guitar), Ian Haug (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Darren Middleton (Guitar, Keyboards, Backing Vocals) and Jon Coghill (Drums, Percussion) settling in 1992.

I'm not very big on POP music. But this band out of Australia has managed to reach my ears. They've been labeled in Australia as POP, hummmmm REALLY???. I think it's just obtainable music of well written rock songs. Maybe it's the guitar tones. Not your usually sounding "PRO TOOLS" software guitar sounds. Maybe it's Bernard Fanning's lead vocals of middle tone vibration, a nice change. Or maybe it's because these rockers never realy got much attention on Canadian POP radio that has me stimulated . Notable songs here. These dudes are pleasure. They won't kick your rock n roll ass, but If want some accessible rock melody and harmony, this is an honorable effort. Spin with Screamin Cheetah Wheelies or New Earth Mud's -This Magnificent Distance. - wino

Nice post, this band is pretty cool and any Neil Young fans who are not already aware of them (most are, 'cos the name is taken from a famous Neil Young song) will like this band..
